MSU Life Committee kicks off spring semester with variety of events
MINOT, N.D. – As Minot State University begins the 2019 spring semester, the MSU Life Committee is kicking off the new year with a large selection of events and activities for students.
“Our committee works diligently to ensure there are events for a wide range of student interests,” said Aaron Hughes, student activities coordinator at Minot State. “Between MSU Life activities, housing programs, athletic events, intramurals, cultural and academic events — there is truly no excuse to be bored.”
Events for the first week of classes begin with Create-a-Critter at 8 p.m. on Jan. 8 in the Beaver Dam. Bingo, a student favorite, follows the next night, and the first weekend of the semester includes Beavers Hockey, free mini golf at the Putt District, Beavers Wrestling, and free ice skating at the MAYSA Arena.
Additional events in January and February include bowling, comedian Ben Seidman, Pinterest Night: Scarves, a Super Bowl party, the start of intramural sports, free meals and coffee, and Beavers sports.
Students looking to join a club are encouraged to attend the Club Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
“The Spring Club Fair is an evening event paired with karaoke and free food. It’s the best opportunity for new and returning students to visit with clubs and organizations about their values, mission, and requirements,” said Hughes. “If you’re new to campus and looking for a way to get involved, or a returning student wanting to try new things, definitely attend the event and see what there is to offer.
